Here’s a good place to start.
What is a tile?
A tile is a small hex-shaped area on the map, about 130 metres across. Explore new tiles on your walks to grow your personal world.
How do I claim new tiles?
Start a walk, move through new tiles, then finish and save. The app verifies your discoveries before adding them to your world. Each tile adds to your exploration score once.
Do I need to run?
No. RUSH IRL is about exploring at your own pace. A walk around the block or a longer wander can both bring you somewhere new.
Is RUSH IRL free?
Yes. RUSH IRL is free to use, with no ads or in-app purchases. Create an account to save your discoveries and progress.
Can other people see my route?
No. Your saved discoveries use tile identifiers; the recorded route path is discarded. Optional rankings show your tile score, not your walking route.
Does the app need my location?
Location lets the app discover tiles during a walk. Background location is optional and can help record a walk when the app isn’t on screen. You control permissions in your device settings.
